Longer life spans and higher care costs can cause some residents’ resources to dry up sooner than expected in spite of careful planning and stewardship. Even when residents can no longer pay the complete fee for their care, they and their families can have peace of mind that they will continue to receive the quality care and access to programming and services they need when they’re at their most vulnerable thanks to Messiah Lifeways’ commitment to benevolent care. Last year Messiah Lifeways provided more than $5 million in benevolent care.
Donors can support the ministry of
benevolent care in two ways.
Gifts made to The Endowment Fund for Benevolent Care are applied to the principal of the endowment, building upon a gift pipeline that will ensure a perpetual and reliable source of income to support benevolent care at Messiah Lifeways for years to come. Increasing the Endowment Fund increases the investment income that can be allocated to help offset the cost of benevolent care each year.
Gifts made to Current Benevolence are applied in the year they are received to help cover the gap between the current year’s costs of benevolent care and the principal from the Endowment.
