Shannon Smeigh

Services Coordinator

Shannon has been an Adult Day team member since December 2022. She has 12+ years of experience in Long-Term Care as an Enrichment Specialist, or activities aide. Shannon graduated from Shippensburg University with a B.A. in Social Work, minoring in Gerontology. Transitioning from Long-Term Care into this role has allowed Shannon to expand her knowledge and passion of working with older adults and their families in another capacity.  She is married to her husband, Shawn, and they have three, children Dalton, Malachi, and Ella. She also has two dogs, Summer and Jovi. In her free time she enjoys camping, going to the races, and spending time at her children’s sporting events.

“I’ve enjoyed being embraced into this position, not only by the team members, but the clients and families as well. Just hearing the words ‘We are so glad you are with us,’ makes a huge difference. I am so excited to create more memories with the team members and clients of Adult Day.”

Tami Smith

Activity Coordinator

Tami has been a team member of Messiah Lifeways since July 2002 with most of that time being spent in Adult Day. “I started as a CNA in Nursing Care, and soon after that I transferred to our Alzheimer’s neighborhood. It was there that I really began to feel that this work is a calling and that being a caregiver is where my heart truly is.”

“This work has such an impact on people’s lives, and I want to help make that a positive experience for clients and their families.”

Kay Rovegno

Program Assistant

Kay has been a member of the Adult Day team since September 2021. Her favorite part about being an Adult Day team member is that the entire Adult Day team is passionate about what they do. “We are all eager and willing to support one another and we each have our own unique ways of delivering programs which keeps it interesting for clients.” In her spare time Kay loves to cook, enjoys Ballroom and Latin dancing, attending music functions and theater shows, spending time outdoors, and trying new things.

“Every day that I arrive, I see love, generosity, and growth in each of the clients. Over time, I see the quiet one laughing out loud, smiling all the time burst out and saying ‘I love you’ to me or other clients. I enjoy getting a great big hug from clients at the end of the day. These are things that warm my heart and keep me smiling and coming back for more.”
