An agua fresca is a fresh and refreshing way to hydrate during warmer days. Made with simple, natural ingredients, it offers a healthy yet flavorful alternative to more sugary, store-bought drinks.
Serves: 2
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 3/4 cup water
- 6 mint leaves
- 6 oz can of lime-flavored sparkling water
- 1/2 cup crushed ice
STEPS
1. Puree the cubed watermelon, plain water, and lime juice in a blender.
2. Optional: Strain the puree, removing the watermelon pulp. If you don’t mind a thicker beverage, you may skip this step.
3. Grab two tall glasses and place 1/4 cup of crushed ice in each.
4. Pour half of your watermelon juice and half a can (3 oz) of lime-flavored sparkling water in each glass.
5. Top it off with 2-3 fresh mint leaves for a subtle herbal aroma and pop of color.
Prefer your beverages a little extra sweet? You can add honey, agave, or simple syrup to taste.
