A christmas tree made up of words with the Messiah Lifeways star on the top

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from Messiah Lifeways!

2-10-snow-on-campus-62016 has been a year of great progress and change as our Messiah Village campus is under construction. Three new structures – Village Square, Hopewell Enhanced Living, and the Greenwood & Engle nursing neighborhoods – have emerged from the ground and are already changing the look of our campus. Amidst all the dirt and noise, though, 2016 also brought many reminders of what is constant – what is unchanging – what is true. As we celebrated 120 years of ministry – our mission was repeated time and time again: We are a ministry that responsibly enhances the lives of older adults with Christ-like love.

If you look closely at the Christmas tree in this email, you’ll notice that two really important words are right at the top, near the star. PURPOSE and LOVE. I am convinced that no matter how much we build or how many new programs we offer, we will always be committed to carrying out our mission with purpose and love. While regulations, industry trends, and market demands may change the particulars, these essentials will not waver.

We recently calculated our total persons served for the last fiscal year. The number? An astonishing 2,903. Through the services, enrichment opportunities, and resident communities you see forming this tree, Messiah Lifeways has partnered with 2,903 persons, in some way, to help them through their aging journey.

Thank you for being a partner – a supporter – a friend – a good neighbor. We could not complete this important work without your investments of time, encouragement, charitable giving, and prayer.

As you and yours prepare to celebrate the festive season and ring in a new year, I leave you with a Christmas benediction from Carol Penner, a  Mennonite Pastor from Canada.

By the tender mercy of our God
love has broken upon us!
Light is given where once there was darkness
and hope where there was only death.
We go into this season knowing
that God will guide our feet into the way of peace.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and may be peace be yours now and in the new year.
