Governor Josh Shapiro Visits Messiah Lifeways’ West Shore Senior Center

On Monday morning, Governor Josh Shapiro visited West Shore Senior Center, a ministry of Messiah Lifeways that provides the local 55+ community with opportunities to engage, remain active, and build community.

During his visit, he spoke with senior center members and Messiah Lifeways leadership in attendance about his budget’s proposed expansion of the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, which would assist Pennsylvania renters and homeowners who are most in need—many of whom are seniors—to be able to stay in their homes.

“We appreciate Governor Shapiro’s visit and his efforts to advocate for the needs of older adults in Pennsylvania,” said Messiah Lifeways Senior Vice President, Alicia Titus. “As a non-profit rooted in the mission of enhancing the lives of older adults with Christ-like love, we take our responsibility in serving the 55+ community and meeting their needs seriously, and we support seniors in their choice to age wherever they are most comfortable.”

In her introductory remarks, Diane Salerno, a member of the senior center, gave praise to Governor Shapiro’s bipartisan efforts in expanding the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program to support even more seniors to live out their golden years with dignity and respect.

In addition to West Shore Senior Center, Messiah Lifeways sponsors Mechanicsburg Place Senior Center and reaches additional seniors and their families in the community through its At Home Services—providing support in the comfort of home. Messiah Lifeways also operates two residential senior living communities in Central Pennsylvania, Messiah Village and Mount Joy Country Homes.
