Judy first met Bill Coder, Vice President of Development, at one of the karaoke nights he hosts on campus, and her first impression was a vibrant one—experiencing joyful and lighthearted interactions between members of the Messiah Lifeways community.
She had a similar reaction when she visited Messiah Village for the first time. “I got the distinct impression that the residents come first, and our comfort and care are the number one priority of all team members,” Judy said. “That impression continues to grow in the two years I have lived here.”
Throughout her life, Judy prioritized giving, including a charitable gift annuity, to a religious charity dear to her heart. After moving to Messiah Village in 2023 and experiencing the high level of care that all residents receive, regardless of their ability to pay, she began to think about taking out a gift annuity with Messiah Lifeways.
“I have such peace of mind living here knowing that if I outlive my financial investments, Messiah Lifeways will lovingly care for me the rest of my life,” she said.
Judy wanted to provide that peace of mind for others too.
After meeting with Bill again, this time to consider her giving options, Judy learned that at her age she would earn an 8.5% return on an investment of $10,000, and decided this would be a good use of her dollars.
“It gives me great joy to know that this investment with Messiah Lifeways will be used to give a comfortable life to a fellow resident,” Judy said.
